P24 in a 3rd World Country FAQ

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for allowing your son/ daughter to participate in this event. I hope that this will be a powerful day for everyone involved. Part of the impact of this event is to keep a lot of what happens 'unexpected' in the eyes of the students, however, I would love to keep you guys in the loop. Here are a few frequently asked questions:

Q: Will my child eat during the event?

A: Yes! Students will have two opportunities to eat during the 24 hours. The first meal will consist of foods that are staples in many countries. The second meal will consist of a corn-soy blend, which is what is typically sent as food aid from the U.S. to developing nations. It is known for being filling and very high in protein.

Q: Will my child be on the CCC campus during the whole event?

A: Absolutely. The event will take place in the CCC Fellowship Hall and Student Ministries Center. Christ's Community Church is located on 45th Ave. and Thunderbird road, across the street from the ASU West campus.

Q: Should we bring a sleeping bag or other sleepy time supplies?

A: There will be activities for students to interact with all night, but they are more than welcome to sleep if they need to catch up on some shut-eye. That being said, sleeping bags or blankets are more than welcome.

Q: What about cell phones?

A: In order for Power of 24 Hours in a 3rd World Country to be as effective as possible, it is imperative that students cut off contact with the 'outside world' for the day. We will give students the option to let us hold on to their phone during the event, however, they are welcome to keep their phones as long as they remain off. In case of emergency, you can reach me, Amanda, at 480-244-5402. My phone will be on during the entire event.

I'm so excited for tomorrow! Pray that your child's mind and heart will be opened as they experience the Power of 24.
